Depending on the application, guides are single-, double-, or triple-wrapped and are as short as possible to enhance performance. Rods are pre-flexed to permit thread settling and micro movement prior to finishing. SKYwater guides will not move under fishing conditions! They will bend and break before they move.

Virtually any thread color combinations are possible, such as matching reel, grip, or boat colors. Recently, a popular pattern has been to incorporate the colors and hues of specific gamefish into the wraps. Decorative butt wraps include standard diamonds or chevrons; many other beautiful patterns, including fish, are available. True fish weaves are not yet included. During finishing, excess epoxy is removed at the base of the guide frame to eliminate the large accumulation common in most rods. Hypalon and EVA grip colors can be combined in a variety of patterns if desired. All rods carry blank and performance specifications, serial numbers, and can be inscribed as desired.
